With over 3,470 graduates since 2008, UMCTO's alumni network spans every corner of Tanzania's tourism and hospitality industry. Here are three stories that make us proud.
Joseph enrolled in UMCTO's Tour Guiding program in 2012 with no prior experience. Today, he leads premium safari expeditions for one of Tanzania's top-rated operators, specializing in photographic safaris and birding tours. “UMCTO gave me the bush skills. Everything else I built from there.”
A 2015 Hotel Management graduate, Grace rose from receptionist to lodge manager in just four years. She now oversees a 24-room luxury tented camp, managing a team of 35 staff. “The practical training was everything. I wasn't nervous on my first day because I'd already done it all at UMCTO.”
After completing both the Tour Operation and Fares & Ticketing programs, Emmanuel launched his own travel agency in 2019. His company now employs 8 people and handles bookings for clients across Europe and North America. “UMCTO taught me both sides — the operations and the business.”
